Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Poople. By accessing or using the game, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Poople, accessible at pooplegame.com (the “Service”), is a free daily word ladder game. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Service. By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please stop using the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after any change to these Terms means you accept the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.

2. Description of the Service

Poople is a browser-based daily word ladder puzzle. Each day you change a 4-letter word into POOP one letter at a time, keeping a valid word at every step. The Service is free to play, requires no account, and stores your progress and statistics in your own browser. A new puzzle is released every day at midnight UTC, and the same puzzle is shared by all players that day.

The Service is provided for entertainment. We may change, add, or remove features, puzzles, or the word dictionary at any time as we improve the game.

3. Eligibility

Poople is a general-audience word game and may be enjoyed by players of all ages. If you are using the Service on behalf of a minor, you are responsible for supervising their use. Please also see the Children’s Privacy section of our Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable Use

When using Poople, you agree not to:

• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service in a way that disrupts it or places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
• Attempt to interfere with, disable, or compromise the security or availability of the Service.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or the word dictionary for redistribution.
• Copy, scrape, or republish substantial parts of the Service or its content without our permission.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

We may limit or block access for anyone who abuses the Service or attempts to disrupt it for other players.

5. Intellectual Property

The Poople name, branding, game design, puzzle logic, word dictionary, and the look and feel of the website are owned by us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The word ladder concept itself is a classic puzzle format in the public domain, and these Terms do not claim ownership of that general idea.

You may share your daily result and link to the game freely. You may not present the Service as your own or build a competing product directly from our assets.

6. Your Game Data

Your progress, streaks, and statistics are stored locally in your browser, as described in our Privacy Policy. This data belongs to you and stays on your device. We do not host or back up your game data, so clearing your browser storage or switching devices will reset your stats. You are responsible for your own device and browser data.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service runs on third-party infrastructure, including Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, and uses a privacy-focused analytics tool. These providers have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers beyond our agreements with them.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that any puzzle, word list, or score will be accurate or complete. You use the Service at your own discretion and risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Poople or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data such as your local game progress, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service should first be raised with us so we can try to resolve it informally.
